WTS products are based on the bionic principles of the bird’s wings and feathers.
WTS back-flow-flaps optimise the air circulation around the rotor blade, resulting in a significant reduction of static and dynamic loads. As a result, the technical parameters can be optimised such as blade length and rotation speed, directly impacting WEC efficiency.
WTS serrations have a unique, aerodynamically optimised 3D design and enable noise reduction of up to 5 dB(A). This helps prevent night-time shutdowns in noise-sensitive locations, ensuring economically sound operation.The noise reduction allows performance to be significantly boosted with new turbines for example by using longer rotor blades without exceeding noise emission limits. In repowering projects at noise sensitive windpark locations more turbines can be installed using WTS serrations to stay within legal emission permits.
